The Psychotherapy Institute’s Spring Symposium

Saturday, April 21, 2018, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Nile Hall, Preservation Park, 668 13th St., Oakland, CA

Presented by Diane Ehrensa, PhD, Erica E. Anderson, PhD, Lin Fraser EdD, LMFT, LPCC, NCC, DCC, & Shawn V. Giammattei, PhD

Defining gender health as the ability to live authentically in ones armed gender, free from aspersion or negativity from the surrounding culture, a new model for working with transgender clients will be the focus of this year’s Spring Symposium. Increasingly individuals are expressing gender identity in ways that are contrary to the cultural norms in which they live. As our conception of gender continues to evolve, psychotherapists will need to deepen their understanding of gender, and sharpen skills for providing care across the lifespan. Please join us for a stimulating presentation that will elaborate new insights into the mental health needs of the trans community.
